Torsten Pettersson

Torsten Pettersson is a novelist, poet and a professor. He is the author of three novels which have been translated into numerous languages, nine collections of poetry, a collection of short stories and some ninety academic publications. 

 

A native of the Swedish-speaking population of Finland, Torsten Pettersson resides in Sweden where he is professor of literature at Uppsala University, the oldest university in Scandinavia.

 

He is the professor who became a writer of crime fiction. When he won a crime novel prize awarded by the publisher Söderströms, where the works were submitted anonymously, everyone was surprised that a poet and a professor had started to write crime fiction.
